An athest professor of philosophy speaks to hiss class on the problem science has with God.The almighty.he asks one of his new student....
Prof:so u believe in God?
Stud:absolutely sir.
PRof:Is God good?
Stud:sure.
Prof:My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him.Most of us
would attempt to help others who are ill.but god didn .how is this good den?
student is silent
Prof:u cant answer.lets start again..is god good?
Stud:yes
Prof:is satan good?
Stud:no.
Prof:where does satan comes from?
Stud:from god....
Prof:thats rite...tell me son,is there evil in this world?
Stud:yes.
Prof:evil is everywhere,isnt it?and god did make everything.correct?
Stud:yes.
Prof:so who created evil?
Student does not answer
Prof:is der sickness?immmorality?hatred?ugliness?
stud:yes sir
Prof..so who created dem?
Student has no answer
Prof:science says u have 5 senses you use to identify n observe the world around u.
haven u ever seen God??tasted your god?heard him??
Stud:no sir,i m afraid i haven
Prof:yet u sti believe in him?
Stud:yes
Prof:according to empirical.testable,demonstrable,protocol,science says ur god doesnt
exists...wat do u say to dat son?
Stud:nothing .i oni have my faith
Prof:ur faith??thats the problem science has.
Stud:prof.is der such a thing as heat?
Prof: yes..
STud:amd is der such a thing as cold?
Prof:yes
Stud:no sir..there isnt...
Stud:sir u can have lots of heat,even more heat,mega heat,white heat,little heat,no
heat.but we dont have such thing called cold...we can hit 458 degrees below zero
which is no heat,but we cant go any further after dat.there is no such thing as
cold..Cold is only a word we use to describe absence of heat..we cannot measure
cannot measure cold .cold is the opposite of heat..and heat is an energy.sir,jus
the absence of it.
Stud:prof is there such thing as darkness?
Prof:yes,wat is night is der isnt darkness?
Stud:u are wrong again.darkness is the absence of light..you can have low light,norma
light,bright light,flashing light....but if u have no light cosistantly,u will
have nothing n its called darkness,isnt it?in reality,darkness isnt.if it were
you would be able to make darkness darker.wouldn u?
Prof:so wat is the point u r making,young man?
stud:sir,my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof:flawed?can u explain how?
stud: u are making on the premise of suality..you argue there is life n death,a good
god n a bad god.u are viewing the concept of god as something finite,something
we can measure.sir science cant explain a thought.it uses electricity n magnetis
,but has never seen,much less fully understoodeither one.to view death as a
death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot
exists as a substantive thing.death is not the opposite of life:just the absence
of it..Do u teach ur students that they evolves from a monkey?
Prof:yes
Stud:have u ever observe evolution with ur own eyes?(prof shakes his heads with a
smile n realize dat the argument is going)
Stud:since no one has observed the process of evolution at work n cannot even prove
dis process is an going endeavor,are u not teaching ur opinion?are u not a
scientist but a preacher??
Stud:is der anyone in class has ever seen the proffessors brain??
STud:has anyone felt or heard or smelt proffesors brain be4?no one appears to have
done so..so according to ur rules of empirical,stable,demonstrable,science.
u have no brain sir..with all due,how do we then trust ur lectures sir?
Prof:i guess u have to take dem on faith son.
STud:dats it sir..the link between man n god is faith.that is all that keeps things
moving n alive.
